British Swimming Referee Qualification for Martin
We would like to announce that Martin Walters, one of our long serving committee members and Officials has qualified as a British Swimming Referee. This is a sought after qualification, which requires years of experience, to work your way through the Officials ranks from humble beginnings as a Timekeeper.
Martin has dedicated himself to his training and given so much of his free time over the years. Once he was in a position of having both the necessary qualifications and experience, Martin undertook the course to become a trainee Referee. The course contains theoretical instruction and specified practical experiences. It is then followed by a formal examination to test his knowledge of the laws and rules of the sport, as well as running a team of Officials at a swimming meet. After a successful exam, he was then able to take a final poolside practical assessment which has lead to qualification as a British Swimming Referee. Congratulations Martin!
