Swim England South West Region Volunteer of the Year!

The Swim England South West Regional panel met recently to consider the various awards for outstanding volunteering and achievement in the South West Region for 2019.

Our own hard working committee member, Competition Secretary and Swimming Referee, Martin Walters, has been selected to receive the Swim England South West Region Volunteer of the Year award! This is a fantastic achievement for Martin and our club, considering how many very worthy, hard-working volunteers there are at every club across the South West. Martin has been part of our hard working committee for many years and gives up a huge amount of his time to help the club, Devon County ASA and Swim England South West through his officiating at numerous swim meets.

Martin will be receiving his richly deserved award on Sunday 8th September in Taunton.

As a regional winner of the Swim England National Awards 2019 Martin will automatically go forward to the National Awards. He has been invited to the Swim England National Awards lunch being held at Birmingham University on Saturday 30th November where he is in the running for the National award!
