Well done Devon!
Devon were crowned Champions for the first time at the National Inter-County Championships at Ponds Forge Sheffield! The champs took place last Sunday 6th October and after finishing as runners-up in 2017 and 3rd place last year, the team have finally won it overall and ended Yorkshire's 3 year reign and previously to that Lancashire's 14 year reign to win. This really highlights the strength of swimming in Devon at the moment.
They ended up on 469 points after winning 4 races and finishing runners up in 5 races. This put them 30 points ahead of 2nd place Northumberland and 31 points ahead of 3rd place Kent.
Exeter City Swimming Club were represented in the team by Ella Osborne and Sara Sari, as well as on the coaching team with Glenn Currie there as one of the coaches. Glenn praised the team for their hard work, yet fun approach to the Championships. He said "We love this event - it's awesome and a great bonding event for us". "We come here and we have some fun. We try and race hard and it's a great experience for us all".
Well done to Ella, Sara, Glenn and the rest of the Devon team for such a great victory!
